Resinorte's mission is to operate and manage the multi-municipal system for sorting, collecting, recovering, and treating urban waste in the north-central region, contributing to the sustainable development of the region and the country.
Recyclable Materials Storage Platform

Recycling storage platforms are specific areas for depositing materials collected at Eco Centers, Recycle Bins, and Door-to-Door Collection, namely:

Glass Platform

Glass resulting from selective collection is deposited on a dedicated platform made of waterproofed concrete. Glass is the only material that goes directly from waste treatment centers to recycling industries, as it does not require sorting.

WEEE Storage Platform

Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment from Eco-centers located in the municipalities that are part of the System is stored on a dedicated platform, situated in a covered area with a waterproofed concrete floor.

Subsequently, the WEEE is separated into 5 types/flows, according to what is defined by the managing entity of this waste flow, and then sent to the Treatment and Recovery Unit.

Paper/Cardboard Storage Platform

This platform is also located in a covered parking area with a waterproof concrete floor, adjacent to the Mechanical and Biological Treatment Unit building.

After weighing on the scale, the selective collection vehicles go to this platform and unload the paper/cardboard waste from the recycling points, recycling centers, and door-to-door collection. A multi-purpose forklift then feeds the material into a bale press to produce bales. These bales are stored here and subsequently sent to recycling industries.
